CEA Raleigh became our second home 3 years ago. We were new to the cheer industry and had 3 of our daughters represent the gym on different teams. One of the first things that stood out to us immediately was the owner, Kelly Helton, and her staff.  Kelly knew the name of every single athlete that walked across her door within the first week practice began. Just by watching the coaches work with the athletes, you could tell they knew what they were doing and working through a seasoned process they obviously had developed to not only get to know each Athlete but to figure out the best way to motivate and push them to be the best they can be. As a "new family" to the gym we were grateful and honored to be part of a program that not only do the coaches and staff bring out the best athletic abilities in each child, but also teaches, and in return expects, good character, discipline, honor, a strong work ethic and the meaning of family!  All life lessons for them to carry on when they move on from cheer.

Now, as a "seasoned family", I am proud to be part of this gym. I believe in the people that run it, and I have faith in the staff that teach my girls lessons that far exceed how to base, or fly in a stunt group.
From the fun games and awards used as motivation for the teams, the hours of hard work and determination that is given every week, or the special outings we do as a gym to bond us all, Cheer Extreme Raleigh was one of the best decisions we ever made for our girls.

Family is everything. And we feel blessed to have CEA Raleigh as our extended family! ♥️

11 years ago I walked into Cheer Extreme Raleigh with my daughter Caroline who was 12 years old. She had been cheering at another local gym for 2 years previously before that was on the Pop Warner Circuit but the current gym could no longer meet her needs. Her skills were advancing and even though we were happy at the other gym my husband and I knew Caroline needed a bigger gym that could not only meet her current needs but advance her to the next level. So fast forward when my youngest daughter, Layla, was ready to cheer at the age of 5 we knew exactly where we would place her.... Cheer Extreme! That year I had a Senior on a Worlds team and one on a Tiny team. Over my 11 years at CEA I have seen this staff work with kids from the ages of 5 to 19 on every possible level through every possible team and wouldn't want my daughters anywhere else but CEA. The staff is very hands on in their instructions. The owner Kelly Helton takes time to get to know each athlete and their own unique style of learning. She learns to tap into their individual needs through positive reinforcement, games, team building and mentoring her athletes. She will encourage them to reach their own personal goals and when they are ready to take flight into their next chapter Kelly will write letters of recommendations and help them in any way she can. She hopes once you step through the CEA doors you become part of her cheer family. I would recommend (and have recommended) CEA Raleigh to anyone that is interested in competitive cheer it is simply the best program not only in our area but in the country.

There is no way to put into words the incredible experiences we had at Cheer Extreme Allstars. I could not think of a better place for my daughter to spend 10 years of her life learning, growing, and experiencing this wonderful life with the best people in the world. She started at CEA when she was 7 years old and fell in love immediately. She had many incredible experiences in her tenure. She learned how to loose with dignity and come back with greater focus and intensity. She leaned how to win and take pride in her accomplishments. She learned how to set and achieve personal and team goals. She learned how to lead and how to follow.  Most of all she gained confidence, passion, a strong work ethic, and made lifelong friends. She has been fortunate enough to be mentored by some of the best coaches  the cheer industry has to offer. She had coaches that pushed her when she needed pushing, were honest with her when she needed, but were always encouraging and had her best interest as their number 1 goal. CEA has given her confidence she can do anything and the opportunity for that to come true. We could not love this place and the people in it more!  She has made her best friends at CEA and so have I.

April 2015: Sydney, 12 at the time, had been competitively cheering for 5 years and decides she wants “more”.  I ask her, “what is more?”  She replies, “more competitions, more teams, more challenges, Summit! Worlds!…Cheer Extreme!!”  After making a "pro-con" list, we decided to support her decision & make the switch.

May 2015: All by herself knowing very few people, Sydney attends tryouts. That is where her story began at Cheer Extreme Raleigh.  Sydney was placed on a Senior level 2 team and a Junior level 3 team.  We were welcomed with open arms.  The following year she worked hard, gained new skills and was placed on a Junior level 3 team and a Junior level 4 team.

August 2017: Building on her tumbling and developing into a strong main base and backspot, she is currently on a Junior level 4 team and a Junior level 5 team.  We have watched Sydney steadily progress in the sport that she truly loves. She has won countless jackets, backpacks, National titles etc,  and competed at The Summit with 4 different teams, however that is not what it is all about.  The most impressive part of our whole journey thus far is that Sydney is learning life lessons on and off the mat at Cheer Extreme.  She is a straight A student, is in clubs at school as well as a Varsity cheerleader as a Freshman.  These are all things encouraged and supported by Kelly and her amazing staff.  Sydney has had the opportunity to be coached by 8 different coaches on the various levels.  While they each have their own unique coaching styles, the one thing they all have in common is that they each truly love and care about Sydney’s athletic, academic, social and emotional well being.

We love being a part of the Cheer Extreme Raleigh family and can’t wait to see what the future has in store for Sydney!

My daughter transferred to Cheer Extreme Raleigh 15 months ago after only 2 years experience at a smaller gym. She has since progressed quickly learning skills that I expected would have taken years to develop elsewhere. CEA Raleigh offers a wide range of team levels so that all athletes can be successful and grow. Coach Kelly, the owner of the gym, has over 20 years cheer experience, is a smart business woman, an innovative and well-respected leader in the industry  and emphasizes the importance of a positive learning experience for all athletes. The coaches are highly trained, passionate about cheer, and strategic to max out their team’s scores. The practices are structured in a logical, efficient manner. The athletes are motivated and parents are welcomed and encouraged to watch practice. CEA Raleigh has taught my daughter to have a strong work ethic and to persevere which will take her far in life. CEA Raleigh is a well-oiled machine, a good return on investment and most importantly my daughter is having fun! This gym is her home-away-from home and there is no better place to cheer!

CEA has definitely been instrumental in my daughter’s life!  Cheer Extreme is more than just a cheer gym with coaches, it is Kristi’s favorite place to be!  There are no words for what her coaches have provided for her and I can’t thank them enough.  All of the coaches exhibit a passion for the sport of cheer and are completely invested in the each cheerleader’s success.  This passion for the sport has led our teams to win numerous competitions and many titles. By setting difficult goals for the cheerleaders, they are in essence teaching them life skills such as dedication, drive, direction and leadership! To them, it’s about preparing your child to be successful in life, being part of a team and learning how to win or lose with grace and dignity.

Kristi has come so far this past year, not only with her tumbling and flying skills, but more importantly with finding confidence in herself, which gives her a sense of belonging at such a crucial age.  We’ve made many new friends and learned that everyone here is truly a family! We look forward to this season and  there on after with Cheer Extreme.  Our hearts belong with CEA!
